Quality and authenticity guarantee
Every Tie-Me-Up product is carefully selected and verified in multiple stages until it leaves for you. For both raw materials and finished items we work with top European manufacturers, so we can offer you the pleasure of wearing or gifting genuine, quality accessories.
Silk, wool and cashmere accessories
We are the exclusive importer for Romania of natural silk accessories by Laura Biagiotti and Marina D’Este: silk scarves for women and men, wool and cashmere wraps, fashion wraps, ties, bow ties and silk pocket squares. All products in the online shop www.tiemeup.ro are genuine. We work directly with the Italian manufacturers who hold the licence to produce these accessories in the designs of the brands mentioned.
Silver and gold jewellery
Tie-Me-Up silver jewellery is made of rhodium-plated 925 silver, or plated with 14K, 18K or 23K gold, plain or combined with semi-precious stones, precious stones and pearls. The 14K gold jewellery is available plain or combined with diamonds, semi-precious stones, precious stones and pearls.
Rhodium plating gives silver jewellery brilliance, resistance and extra beauty.
All Tie-Me-Up jewellery is hallmarked at ANPC. Our company is authorised by ANPC for operations with precious metals, precious stones, natural pearls and cultured pearls, under Authorisation no. 009420.
Quality standards
Our products comply with European Union norms. They are made of high-quality, non-toxic materials with a low risk of allergic reactions, using modern techniques that ensure durability and easy care.
Hand-finished products may show small differences in size or shade. These are the mark of handwork and are not defects.
Legal conformity warranty
All products sold on www.tiemeup.ro to consumers come with the legal conformity warranty of 2 years (24 months) from the delivery date, under Romanian GEO no. 140/2021 on certain aspects of contracts for the sale of goods (transposing EU Directive 2019/771).
The warranty covers any lack of conformity existing at delivery, including hidden manufacturing defects. For example: factory solder defects, flaws in the metal or in fastening systems, weaving or printing defects on the silk.
The legal warranty is not insurance. It does not cover damage occurring after delivery due to normal wear and tear, accidents or inappropriate use.
1. Who must prove the defect
Any lack of conformity appearing in this period is considered to have existed at delivery. Tie-Me-Up may rebut this presumption only by proving the contrary, or if the presumption is incompatible with the nature of the product or defect (for example, jewellery visibly bent or broken by pulling or impact, a silk scarf with pulled threads or burnt by ironing).
The legal presumption no longer applies. To benefit from the warranty, the buyer must show that the defect existed at delivery (manufacturing defect) and does not come from wear or use. Proof may be provided by any means, including technical expertise.
2. What the warranty does not cover
The legal warranty does not cover damage occurring after delivery from the situations below, when they are the cause of the problem reported.
A. Jewellery: contact with chemicals and corrosive environments
- wearing in sea water, swimming pools, baths or jacuzzis (chlorine, iodine and salt destroy surface treatments, may dull stones and oxidise or discolour the metal);
- direct contact with cosmetics, perfume, hairspray, creams, suntan lotion, detergents or cleaning products, which can attack the alloy and rhodium layer or stain the stones.
B. Jewellery: impact, snagging and rough handling
- breaking, undoing, deforming or stretching chains, bracelets or connecting elements by snagging, pulling, tearing or improper storage;
- scratching, chipping, cracking or shattering stones or metal surfaces by impact or dropping;
- deformation of rings or earrings by mechanical pressure (lifting weights, sports, physical work);
- loss of stones due to impact or snagging.
C. Jewellery: normal wear over time
- natural dulling of polished surfaces, fading of satin or matt textures and fine scratches from daily wear;
- natural wear and thinning of chain links or clasps from repeated friction;
- natural oxidation of silver, a normal chemical process influenced by skin pH and sweat acidity, which is not a manufacturing defect;
- gradual fading of the rhodium or gold plating (on plated jewellery) through daily friction.
D. Silk, wool and cashmere items
- pulled, snagged or broken threads, holes or pilling appearing through wear or contact with jewellery, bags, belts, zips, fingernails or rough surfaces;
- discolouration or stains caused by prolonged exposure to the sun or by contact with perfume, cosmetics, hairspray or sweat;
- shrinking, deformation, discolouration or burning of the material by washing, drying or ironing contrary to the care instructions on the label and on this page;
- damage caused by pets.
E. Unauthorised interventions
- size adjustments, repairs, soldering, re-plating or cleaning performed by third parties (jewellery workshops, dry cleaners, etc.) without the written agreement of Tie-Me-Up.
Small size or shade differences specific to hand-finished products, together with colour differences from the website photos caused by screen settings, do not constitute lack of conformity.
3. Your rights if the product is defective
If a lack of conformity is confirmed following the procedure below, you have the following rights, free of charge:
- Repair or replacement of the product, at your choice (with an identical product or, with your agreement, with a similar one). Tie-Me-Up may refuse the option you choose only if it is impossible or would involve costs disproportionate to the other, in which case we propose the available option. Repair or replacement is carried out within no more than 15 calendar days from the date you notified us and the product reached us.
- Proportional price reduction or contract rescission (refund of the price), in any of the following situations:
- repair or replacement is impossible or has been justifiably refused by Tie-Me-Up;
- repair or replacement has not been carried out within the 15-day deadline;
- the defect reappears after remedy;
- the defect is serious enough to directly justify a price reduction or rescission;
- Tie-Me-Up has declared that it will not remedy the product.
In case of rescission, the product is returned to Tie-Me-Up and the price paid is refunded within no more than 14 days of our receiving the product, using the same payment method used at purchase or by bank transfer if you paid cash on delivery. In case of price reduction, the difference is refunded within the same time frame.
4. How to report a problem
- Contact us by email at office@tiemeup.ro or by phone at 0725 754 999 or 021 321 1894. Please provide the order or invoice number, a short description of the problem and clear photos of the product and the affected area.
- We send you the AWB. The product subject to complaint is shipped exclusively through the courier and with the AWB issued by Tie-Me-Up, at our expense, well packed and together with all the components received (packaging, certificate, label if any). Parcels sent by any other means, with payment on delivery or cash on delivery, cannot be accepted.
- We examine the product. On receipt the product is checked and a written inspection report with photos is drawn up and sent to you.
- We resolve. If the lack of conformity is confirmed, we apply the measures at point 3, at no cost to you, including shipping both ways.
If the defect falls into the situations at point 2, we communicate the reasons to you in writing and the product is returned to you with return shipping at your expense. On request, we can prepare a paid repair offer. If you disagree with the finding, you may request an independent technical expert opinion; if this confirms the lack of conformity, the expert's costs are borne by Tie-Me-Up.
The legal conformity warranty is distinct from the right of withdrawal from the contract within 14 days provided by Romanian GEO no. 34/2014 for online purchases, and does not affect it. Details are available on the Returns page.
Caring for silk, wool and cashmere items
Dry cleaning is the best choice for keeping the shine and fine, soft texture of natural silk, cashmere or blended accessories. On the product label (textile or brand) you will find the indication for dry cleaning with any solvent except trichloroethylene.
If you choose to clean the products at home:
- wash them only by hand, with Perwol liquid detergent for coloured items;
- avoid bleach, soap and detergents with other aggressive substances;
- wring them gently without twisting, and leave them to dry on a towel, arranged in their original shape; they will iron and be maintained much more easily this way;
- iron them at low temperature, on the silk setting.
Ties and bow ties must not be washed, not even by hand: inside, they contain materials that support their shape and risk never returning to it.
Do not wear silk accessories on wet hair, in the shower or at the pool, and keep them out of the reach of children and pets.
Silk hair accessories protect your hair and will stay with you for a long time if, after washing according to the recommendations above, you wring them gently and let them dry on a towel in their original shape.
Caring for silver jewellery, plain or with semi-precious stones and cultured pearls
Protect your jewellery from impact, open bracelets, earrings and necklaces gently, and remove them before any activity in which they might come into contact with water, detergents, cosmetics or other chemicals. This protects the ornamental elements (semi-precious stones, zirconia crystals, silver and metal elements) and prevents wear on the structural parts (wire, chain links, clasps).
- Heavy or acidic sweat, perfume and hairspray can change the colour of jewellery and damage or dull the surface layer. Put jewellery on last, after perfume and cosmetics.
- Clean jewellery only with a soft cloth, specifically for jewellery. Do not use solvents or other chemicals.
- Store each piece of jewellery separately, in its box or pouch, so they do not scratch or snag each other.
- Keep jewellery out of the reach of children under 5.
